Admissions Counselors
An Admissions Counselor is here to assist with your successful start at Bay Path University. Admissions Counselors assist students with all aspects of enrolling at the University and serve as the primary point of contact during your orientation and up to the first week of your course. Each of our Admissions Counselors is cross-trained to work with students in all majors. Additionally, Admissions Counselors:
- Assist in the creation of BayPath credentials and access to Portal and email
- Aid in students’ completion of BPU 099 – New Student Orientation
- Discuss all necessary paperwork for successful onboarding
- Check-in regularly during the enrollment process to answer any questions related to beginning your journey with TAWC
Academic Advisor
After you have successfully started your first course, an advisor is here to help guide a student to successful degree completion. Advisors provide support to students and are also available to the Faculty members to aid in the students’ success. There are a number of ways in which they play a significant part in this process. You will be connected with your advisor during your first session.
Onboarding
- Facilitate a New Student Scheduling Consultation meeting with student to discuss course schedule, pacing, structure and register for all semester courses
Registration
- Provide course suggestions for upcoming sessions
- Provide assistance with self-registration on the Portal
- Approve of semester schedule
- Discuss adding, dropping, or withdrawing from a course
- Assist in academic form submission
Course Assistance
- Send reminders about the first week participation in courses
- Periodic session progress inquiry and check-in with students
- Address any course concerns with appropriate parties (i.e., Program Directors, Instructors, etc)
- Provide recognition if students do exceptionally well in a course
General Guidance
- Academic Warning/ Dismissal
- Leave of Absence/ Stop-outs
- Change of Major
- Declaration of Minor and Certificates
- College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
- Academic Support Services (i.e., Tutoring, Disability Services, etc)
- Planning for Masters Programs
