31 Transfer Student Course Scheduling
Page Navigation
As a Transfer student, you bring completed college coursework and knowledge, unique to you. You will work with your Academic Advisor to create your first semester schedule at Bay Path, using a personalized Graduation Planning Sheet (GPS) and Degree Audit.
Every Transfer students schedule will look different based on their transfer credit, major, and overall goals. Your schedule may look something like this:
- Major requirements outstanding
- Courses from our Core General Education program (unless you have already satisfied the program through Transfer credit)
- Major or Core General Education requirements” General Elective courses – Any course that Bay Path offers that you are interested in taking, as long as you have met any necessary prerequisites; some students use their General Electives to complete double majors, minors, certificates, and concentrations. Please talk with your Advisor about your interests.
- You may also take a math course based on your transfer credit, placement, and major.
Based on your personal and academic goals and transfer credit, you will select 4, 5, or 6 courses each semester for full-time status, 12-18 credits. You may also choose to complete your degree on a part-time basis, 11 credits or less in a semester. You will discuss what is the best fit for you and your major with your Advisor.
Please remember to send any updated or outstanding official transcripts to our Admissions Office as soon as possible to avoid future holds on your account, and to ensure your schedule is accurate and appropriate for the upcoming semester.
After initial course registration with your Advisor, schedule changes can only be made through your Advisor directly, or during the Add/Drop period, which is listed on the Undergraduate Academic Calendar based on the Traditional or Accelerated Session courses you are registered for.
