Main Glossary

As a First Year student, you will work with your Academic Advisor to create your first semester schedule, using a personalized Graduation Planning Sheet (GPS) and Degree Audit.  Your schedule will look something like this:

  • WEL100/220 – Introduction to Women as Empowered Learners and Leaders Program – WELL is Bay Path’s signature program.
  • ENG 114 – Critical Reading and Response – This is the first English course in your 3 course sequence.
  • 1 or 2 Introductory level courses in your declared major or major of interest.
  • 1 or 2 courses from the Core General Education program.
  • You may also take a math course based on your placement and major.  Your Advisor will review this with you.

Based on your personal and academic goals, you will select 4, 5, or 6 courses each semester for full-time status, 12-18 credit.  You may also choose to complete your degree on a part-time basis, 11 credit or less in a semester. You will discuss what is the best fit for you and your major with your Advisor.

After initial course registration with your Advisor, schedule changes can only be made through your Advisor directly, or during the Add/Drop period, which is listed on the Undergraduate Academic Calendar based on the Traditional or Accelerated Session courses you are registered for.
