19 Course Sequencing

It is important to be strategic when planning out your schedule and you should work closely with your Academic Advisor to ensure you are creating an accurate and balanced educational experience.

Licensure Students:

To meet the Massachusetts DESE requirements for licensure programs, students will be required to complete fieldwork, a practicum experience in Massachusetts, and attend virtual synchronous meetings for the SEI Endorsement.

Students also need to factor in MTEL exams throughout each Academic Year. It is recommended to take no more than 4-5 courses each semester to allow time to prepare for and take these exams. All exams must be completed prior to Practicum.

Below is a Projected Course Offering for Education Program courses. **Please note this is always subject to change.

Many of the courses build on each other and some prepare for MTEL exams, so it is strongly recommended to follow what is recommended to stay on track for graduation.

The courses listed below need to be taken in consecutive sessions:

EDU 110, EDU 211 and EDU 212

EDU 300 and EDU 323

MAT 161, MAT 162, and MAT 163

Courses that are Hybrid Zoom (Saturdays 10am – 12:30pm) will have required attendance.

The need for these meetings is based on content, MTEL Prep and/or State of MA requirements. Your attendance is required as topics related to course content, assignments and MTEL prep are covered. In approved instances by the instructor, students will be provided a recording of the Zoom with a written reflection required. Please work with your instructor ahead of the scheduled meeting to discuss.

Courses highlighted in yellow are only offered once each Academic Year so make sure you work with your advisor to plan for graduation.
