31 How do I find a Practicum Site?

Typically students enrolled in a licensure program are already working in a Massachusetts Public School in some capacity (i.e. Paraprofessional). If that is the case, it’s recommended you work with the Principal and Teacher to arrange approval for your student teaching.

If not currently working in a Massachusetts Public School, it is recommended to look for a position early in your degree path. Or you can reach out to school districts to discuss the possibility of doing your student teaching when the time comes. Click on the links below for some of the school districts in Massachusetts.

It’s also recommended to create a SchoolSpring for Public School Job Opportunities account and start applying. Even if it’s something entry level and and not a Paraprofessional position or in a classroom, you have your foot in the door. Please reach out to the Career Development Center for assistance with your resume and cover letter.

However, if you are unable to find a school, please contact Associate Academic Director of Education at TAWC, Shirley Montovani via smontovani@baypath.edu to assist.
