1 Overview

The Education Licensure Programs at TAWC were designed for working women with an ultimate career goal to become a licensed teacher in the public school system – either Elementary Education Licensure (1 – 6) OR Early Childhood Education Licensure (pre-K – 2).

While taking these courses you will share your knowledge and experience with fellow students/colleagues in the field of Education creating an experience that is meaningful to everyday practice.

This curriculum prepares graduates to lead classrooms and work at childcare facilities through the ever-changing political landscape and increasingly complex financial challenges of the federal and state governments. Graduates will also be able to apply the latest theories and practices in educational structures, lesson planning, curriculum design, classroom management and engagement, behavior and social issues, differentiating practices, learning disabilities, educational technology, and assessment.

Changes and evolutions in the education systems in this country have created a need for educated professionals prepared to meet the challenges posed by state and federal regulations and demands and needs of students in education systems in the 21st century. While the demand for education services increase, there will be an even greater demand for teachers, support personnel, childcare workers, and others professionals working with children.

Good luck ~ we hope you enjoy this journey to becoming an Educator!
