Course Design and Delivery

This section provides an overview of Bay Path Online’s unique educational model, which combines a centralized course management system with an accelerated academic schedule. You’ll learn how these two components work together to provide our adult learners with a high-quality, consistent, and flexible learning experience that supports their unique needs and busy lives.

Centralized Course Management Model

Bay Path Online uses a centralized, standardized course model to ensure a high-quality and consistent learning experience. All courses are built within our Learning Management System (Canvas) using a structured development process with standardized tools and templates. This includes a tightly integrated syllabus, which is managed and updated through our software, Concourse, to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Our curriculum is updated on a regular cycle with valuable input from our faculty. While course content is developed by academic program directors, subject matter experts (SMEs) and instructional designers, feedback from adjunct instructors is a critical component of our quality assurance process. This feedback directly informs curricular enhancements, creating a closed-loop system that keeps our courses current and ensures faculty are invested in the curriculum.

Accelerated Learning

At Bay Path Online, we utilize a student-centric learning model designed to deliver a high-quality, affordable, and flexible education. Our approach is built on accelerated 7-week sessions and generous credit options, including accepting up to 90 transfer credits and awarding credit for prior learning. This allows students to complete their bachelor’s degree on a timeline that works for them, ranging from one to three and a half years.

Bay Path Online operates on a trimester academic model, which includes six 7-week sessions—two each in the fall, spring, and summer. Our course schedule is a collaborative effort, finalized each trimester by the Registrar’s Office. We ensure the schedule is designed with our students in mind by using feedback from academic advisors on student needs and past enrollment data.
