Academic Integrity Policy

This section outlines Bay Path University’s Academic Integrity Policy, which aims to educate students on the highest standards of academic conduct. It defines various violations of academic integrity, such as plagiarism and cheating, and details the procedures for reporting and resolving allegations. The policy describes a two-tiered system for resolution, as well as information on sanctions, the appeal process, and a summary process for serious behavioral violations.

Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination Policies 

This section outlines Bay Path University’s comprehensive policy on discrimination and harassment. It reaffirms the University’s commitment to a respectful and tolerant environment, detailing prohibited conduct based on protected characteristics like sex, race, and religion. The policy also provides a specific definition of sexual harassment, including examples of unwelcome behavior. Finally, it establishes a clear procedure for reporting and investigating complaints, and it includes information on confidentiality, the prohibition of retaliation, and the consequences of malicious, false accusations.

Attendance Policy

This section details the attendance policy for Bay Path Online accelerated degree programs. It covers the federal credit hour guidelines, the requirement for active participation in all courses, and the specific procedures for administrative drops from both single courses and the institution. The policy also includes an exemption process for military personnel and outlines the distinct attendance requirements for the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Program, including policies for lab and clinical absences.

Confidentiality of Student Records (FERPA)

This section outlines the University’s compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). It explains students’ rights regarding their educational records, including the right to inspect and review records, request amendments, and consent to disclosures. The policy also defines what constitutes “Directory Information” that can be released without consent, and it specifies the conditions under which information can be disclosed to school officials and parents of dependent students. Finally, it details the procedure for filing a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education.

Incomplete Policy

This section explains the policy regarding an Incomplete (I) grade. It specifies that this grade is only granted for documented emergencies and to students who are passing the course at the time of the request. The policy details the process for requesting an incomplete, including the need for a formal request form and a five-day student response window. It also establishes the deadline for completing outstanding work (two weeks after the end of the course) and the process for requesting an extension. A special note is included for Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) students, who must resolve all incomplete grades before starting the next term.

Late Work Policy

This section outlines the late work policy for Bay Path Online courses. It emphasizes the importance of communication between students and instructors.  The policy details the conditions under which late assignments may be accepted, the penalty for late submissions, and exceptions for specific types of coursework such as discussions, quizzes, exams, and time-sensitive labs.

Title IX Policy and Grievance Procedures; Statement of Non-Discrimination
