Academic Advising

Academic advisors are an essential part of the student support system at Bay Path University. A key aspect of their role is proactive advising, which uses a data-driven approach to ensure students remain engaged in their courses.

As an instructor, you play a crucial role in this process by making advising staff aware of any student needs as soon as they arise. This includes reporting issues like missed assignments, diminished participation, or any direct student communication that goes beyond your scope as an instructor.

For the best student outcomes, we encourage open communication among program directors, adjunct faculty, and academic advisors. Please contact a student’s academic advisor if they are:

  • Not participating in the course
  • Expressing financial concerns that may affect their ability to persist or purchase materials
  • Struggling academically or failing the course
  • Communicating that they have experienced a major life event that could impact their ability to continue
  • Performing exceptionally well and deserving of recognition

If you have concerns about a student’s grades, health, accommodations, or tutoring needs, our student success center is available to help.
