Chapter 10 – Managing International Expansion and Global Market Opportunity Assessment

This chapter pulls together the information that managers need to consider when reviewing how and where to expand internationally. Chapter 10, Section 1 “Managing International Expansion” shows that choosing to expand internationally is rarely a simple task. Before a company can determine how to expand globally, it typically conduct a detailed analysis of markets.

Chapter 11 – Managing Entry Modes: Exporting, Importing, and Global Sourcing

Chapter 11 discusses how best to enter new markets. Once a company decides to enter a market, there are a number of entry modes, including importing, exporting, and outsourcing, all of which involve doing business across borders. In today’s digitally connected world, even small companies become international when they outsource work to contractors or sell to customers in countries other than their home country.

Chapter 12 – Managing Global Strategy, Formulation & Implementation

This chapter takes you deeper into the subjects of managing global strategy, the types and parameters of strategies and how best to manage them in a global context. You will learn about strategy—specifically, the strategy formulation framework known as the strategy diamond.
