Introduction to KnowledgePath and Resource Website

This course uses the adaptive platform KnowledgePath (KP) as a mechanism for delivering a portion of your course content.  KP takes advantage of the power of adaptive learning technology and allows students to travel individual pathways through visual learning maps, which instructors and students can both see. The system adapts to your learning style by providing various methods of instruction, such as: videos, texts, podcasts, etc.  KP is accessed through assignments in your Canvas classroom.

KnowledgePath displays your course materials in a learning map. This map is your own unique learning path that allows you pass over concepts you may already know. It will also identify and allow you to focus on any material that you may struggle with. Your instructor can follow along with your progress and offer targeted feedback and intervention to help you along the way.

It is recommended that KP is the first activity that you undertake in each weekly module. Completing the KP assignment first will give you the best opportunity to apply what you’ve learned while completing discussion board posts and writing papers.

All KP assignments are graded and are due on the Thursday of each week that assignments are due. However, you can always return to assignments that you have already completed and review the content to improve your score!

We have included a resource site to help you become familiar with this system and we have titled it appropriately “Using KnowledgePath”. On this site, we have information on getting started, which explains some of the things you will see and do once you do get started, shares some tips and tricks to help KnowledgePath become more customized to you, and also instructions on what to do if you experience an issue. We encourage you to watch the videos and read about this system before you get started with it so you can learn how to use it best and allow it to work for you.

Please take some time and explore this site and if you still have any questions on this system or any issues, please send a detailed email to the Helpdesk including:

  • your name
  • which course you are taking
  • your instructor’s name
  • which week, which assignment, and which activity within the assignment is giving you difficulty
