Pair your Canvas course with the McGraw-Hill Connect.

You will receive the template course from the Lead Faculty or Program Director.  The template course will have all of the readings, assignments, and quizzes already created and organized to match the Canvas layout and syllabus.   You will need to pair this template to this Canvas section.

  • From written instructions – complete steps 4-8.  IGNORE steps 2-3, this has already been done.
  • From video Follow the instructions to pair (time 0:48-1:30)  IGNORE instructions from time 0:25-0:48 – this step has already been done.

Transferring Grades from Connect to Canvas

Grades will need to be manually copied over from the McGraw Hill gradebook into Canvas.

Each Connect assignment has a corresponding assignment in each Canvas module. Copy the grades for each student into the corresponding Canvas assignment.

The Connect course uses SmartBook 2.0.

SmartBook identifies and closes knowledge gaps through a continually adapting reading and questioning experience that helps students master the key concepts in the chapter. SmartBook 2.0 is the latest version of SmartBook, with key updates to: improve accessibility, provide mobile functionality, allow a more granular level of content selection, and provide the ability to assign Recharge activities.

Each week, the readings have SmartBook assignments that use SmartBook 2.0, which is an adaptive textbook.  This video explains what it is, and things you’ll need to know as an instructor.
