Section 2: The Project

The majority of the learning in this class will happen through a group project. Over the coming weeks, teams of 2-4 students will apply the d.school’s design thinking process to a mock design brief. Groups and design briefs will be assigned later this week (keep an eye on class announcements), and each of the following weeks will focus on a different step in the process: week 2 will look at empathy, week 3 at problem definition, and so on. Here’s our project pipeline. It’s ok if most of it doesn’t make sense to you right now–each week we’ll look more closely at the design thinking step we’re working on and go over the deliverables due at the end of that week–but it will be helpful to have a sense of what’s on the horizon as you move through the project.
